Here we are in Troutbeck!

Day #3.  Sat., May 30. Early this morning we traveled north to Heathrow to collect Malcolm and Dolly. We then continued our journey north to England's beautiful Lake District where we'll spend the week enjoying its beauty. We arrived happily at our favorite Lake District cottage (Butt Hill) and village (Troutbeck). A place where you are surrounded by 360 degrees of natural beauty! The very reason we are returning! As soon as we unpacked our groceries, emptied our car of its luggage, and enjoyed a cup of tea and biscuits we were off to Ings to the Watermill Pub for dinner with friends Stan and Judy Gaede who were also holidaying in the LD. It was fun to hear their tales of their wonderful days here.  A delicious and fun evening of feasting...a feast of friendship, fine dining, and super ales...was enjoyed by all! The brandy basket dessert filled with the best vanilla ice cream, fresh raspberries, and hot fudge sauce tempted us all and was the perfect ending to celebrate our evening together.

Tomorrow Judy and Stan head to the equally as lovely Cotswolds and the Reids and the Harpers begin their week of hiking the hills and dales, admiring the Herdwick sheep, meanderings in some of the beautiful gardens, relaxing in our lovely cottage with great views of the fells and a ton of other things we love to do in England's gorgeous Lake District. Our jet lagged bodies sent us all to bed at a decent hour.
